OHV Definition
OFF HIGHWAY VEHICLES (Heavy Equipment Machinery) come in all shapes and sizes, along with all forms of purposes. Heavy Equipment Machinery Vehicles are considered Off Highway Vehicles that may be open air or enclosed vehicles which may have few or many wheels or tracks. OHV's may or may not be street legal. OHV vehicles are often described as vehicles that were not intended to travel public streets or highways, including machinery like tractors, forklifts, loaders, backhoes, bulldozers etc.
An off-highway vehicle (OHV) is a type of vehicle designed specifically to be used off-road, or capable of off road work like construction or production. Some can be driven on the road, but the majority of these vehicles are designed as machines intended for purposes such as farming, construction, production or development.
The term Off Highway Vehicle "OHV" is very loosely defined, and quite vague, as nailing down the applications will only lead to a blurry picture of variable definitions that generally lead back to many different descriptions depending on the source, and local state applications.
The term OHV most often applies to off highway vehicles that are built by or sourced from the automobile industry. OHV examples include tractors, backhoes, dozers, loaders etc. An OHV may be a custom fabricated vehicle that uses many parts and components sourced from automotive manufacturers, and auto parts suppliers.

OHV Shop, Yard, and Construction Equipment
OHVs like heavy construction equipment are used for various purposes in large projects. Selection of different types of heavy equipment depends on the size of the work and economy of the project. These machines make construction processes easier and faster to complete.
Heavy equipment or heavy machinery refers to heavy-duty vehicles, specially designed for excavation and construction execution tasks, most frequently ones involving earthwork operations or other large construction projects.
Heavy equipment usually comprises five equipment systems: implementation, traction, structure, power train, control and information.
